Head teacher blog Feb 27th 2015
It is great to be back after the half term and we have had a lovely week. All the Nursery children went to visit Harlow Carr Gardens in Harrogate and the weather was kind – well done to Miss Stewart for organising such a trip with these very young children. We do try to give the children a very wide range of educational experiences and the number of trips we do is testament to this. We have also had a ‘real’ nurse in Y1 talking to the children about her job and hospitals whilst KS2 children have begun their farming lessons again following the winter break. This week some Y6 children have worked to extend the orchard and we are beginning the annual sowing of seeds. All our willow has been harvested and young people from Crawshaw School have helped our gardeners to rebuild willow-weave beds in our flower cutting garden.
Mrs Fisher and Mrs Carney have returned from their ‘twin school’ visit to India over the holidays and they had a wonderful time. They were made to feel very, very welcome and they came back laden with gifts!
