The Penultimate Week Draws to a Close…

Despite getting closer to the end of the year, we have all been hard at work and have managed to pack so much into a single week! The highlight was obviously sports day, where the children did their absolute best in spite of the heat and seemed to really enjoy themselves overall. Photographs from the event have been shared here.

We also had a girls’ football event take place on Monday, where Mr Beevers took two teams of girls to compete against other schools. They practised hard prior to the event and gave it their all on the day. To quote one of the players: “On Monday, we went to a football tournament. It was really fun. We didn’t win (we actually did terrible) but we had the best time ever. Everybody should try football out!”

(Photographs hopefully to follow!)

Throughout the week, we have been hard at work completing our RSE curriculum. The children have all behaved fantastically in each of these sessions and have engaged well with the content (despite some children initially being embarrassed by the topic). The Year 4 staff have all been really impressed with the questions that the children have been asking and the discussions that have been takig place, which we hope will continue into next week as we complete our final session.

Finally, both classes performed ‘From a Railway Carriage’ by Robert Louis Stevenson as part of our poetry slam event. Both classes had a different take on the poem and the children all did a fantastic job when it came to the actual performance. Well done to both classes!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
