Headteacher blog for the new school year
We have had a superbly positive start to the year: everyone seems refreshed and enthusiastic in their new classes – children and staff alike! Over the holidays, we have had a lot of work done on the infant roof, junior heating systems and timber structures around school. Parent and staff volunteers have also been installing new ‘outdoor gym’ type play equipment in an avenue of trees; it is nearly ready to go and should be a very positive addition to the grounds and our promotion of fit, healthy childhoods. Many, many thanks to the volunteers, Gibbs and Dandy (who have generously donated concrete and sand) and to the lottery and PTA who have part-funded it. Work is progressing on the pigs enclosure and our two piglets are due to arrive in mid October. They should be with us until the summer.
