World Book Day!

We had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day on Thursday. It was wonderful to see the children dressed up in outfits to represent their hobbies, interests and favourite books. The book swap was a particular highlight of the day. Children were excited to choose a new book and spoke enthusiastically about why they love reading and what sorts of books they enjoy. We also had two lovely sessions with our Reception reading buddies. 4NL were lucky to be able to read outside with their buddies in the sunshine on Wednesday, while 4SL had a brilliant time reading and playing with their buddies in the Reception classroom. Your child may have brought home some information about applying for a Blue Peter book badge. You can find more information about this here. We’d love to see your badges in Special Mention assembly when they arrive! Thank you for all your support at home to help make World Book Day a success and to promote and celebrate reading.

D.T – Musical Instruments

Following our workshop with Sam the Sound Man earlier this year, children in Year 4 spent some time this week planning which musical instrument they would like to make. Children should have come home with a list of equipment that they will need in order to make their instrument. We would be grateful if the materials that your child will need could be brought into school by Thursday 12th March. All tools will be provided by school. If you are having any trouble sourcing materials, please let us know. Here is some information about the different instruments that the children might have chosen to make:
