Year 4 News – 5.6.26

It’s been a busy first week back in Year 4!

Cloud Tea Monkeys

To introduce our new class text, Cloud Tea Monkeys by Elspeth Graham and Mal Peet, Year 4 tried out the role of ‘apprentice tea taster’, sampling a variety of teas and attempting to describe the flavours. There were mixed opinions on how good the teas tasted, but we all had fun having a try and the children generated some lovely vocabulary.

Worms!

In science, the children were challenged this week to answer the question ‘Where in the school grounds would we find the most worms?’ The children planned their investigations and set off in groups, counting the worms found within a hoop in their chosen area. We were surprised by how many worms the children managed to find!

Bringing Us Together

At the end of last half term, 4SL recorded a performance of ‘Bringing Us Together’. We hope you enjoy it! This half term we will be working on the song Frère Jacques, which will give us the opportunity to sing and play in a round.

Multiplication Tables Check

A quick reminder that next week, the children will be completing their Multiplication Tables Check. Please ensure that Chromebooks are brought to school every day, fully charged.

We are incredibly proud of how hard the children have worked on their times tables all year, and they should feel confident going into next week! Please remind them that the check is nothing to worry about – it is just a way to monitor their progress and ensure we can provide the best possible support as they move forward into Year 5.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Mrs Sykes, Miss Levett and Mr Nehaul
