English

We have had a fantastic time exploring the world of radio advertising this week! After analysing professional adverts to uncover their persuasive secrets, the children worked in teams to script their own adverts for the Five Palms Hotel. Today, 4SL stepped into the recording studio. Even though we faced a few sound engineering challenges and ran out of time for the final edits, the children have produced some great work. It’s impressive to see what they’ve achieved in only two lessons – their teamwork was truly brilliant. Stay tuned for 4NL, who will be recording their videos next week!

Geography

In Geography this term, we will be focusing on the physical and human features of Leeds (ready to later compare and contrast these features with those of a rural area). The children enjoyed using maps to spot different features and to find out how Leeds has changed over time. They looked really carefully and made some super observations, considering why some of these changes might have happened.

Science

In science, we are learning about classification. This week, we classified vertebrates into mammals, fish, birds, amphibians and reptiles, explaining the characteristics of each of class. The children carefully presented what they had found out.

Art

In PPA art this term, the children will be working on some collage projects. If you have any old magazines or newspapers at home that you don’t need, we would be very grateful if you could bring them in.

Times Tables and Extreme Reading

Please continue to support your child at home by practising times tables and ensuring reading records are signed 5 times each week.

Wishing you all a lovely bank holiday weekend.
