English

In our English lessons this week, we have been continuing our work on persuasive writing. After our successful first attempts at creating our own radio adverts, we decided to plan some new ones specifically for Farsley Farfield. The first step was select a target audience, then consider what features of our school that audience would be most interested in. The children had some great ideas and we can’t wait to see how they use them!

Maths

In Maths, we have been continuing to explore the concept of tenths as decimals. After spending some time using different representations to clarify exactly what tenths are and how they work, we began looking at what would happen if you divided a single digit number by 10. The children did a fantastic job of remembering the work we did on dividing by 10 at the start of the year, which made applying it in our current lessons much easier. We will continue to develop this concept next week.

Leeds Visit

This week, 4L had a very successful trip into Leeds as part of our Geography unit. The children were all fantastic representatives of our school and were very sensible while moving through the city. They also gave every activity their best effort and seemed to really enjoy exploring the museum. We hope that 4Ke will have an equally successful trip when they go next week.

We hope you all have a lovely long weekend!
