English

At the start of the week, we finished our Bog Baby reports. The children did an excellent job, writing about a bog baby’s habitat, appearance and diet.

We then started a short unit on poetry. Today we created some minibeast diamante poems. We will edit and improve these next week, before copying these up for display.

Reading

This week we have been reading ‘The Day the Crayon’s Quit’.

Spellings

We have been reviewing how to spell words ending le, el and al and learned a new spelling il.

Maths

We have started a new unit on position and direction. Children have been describing movement and turns this week, which links nicely with our map work in geography.

Art

We started some lovely observational drawings of butterflies.

Geography

We braved the heat and went to the farm with an aerial photograph. We practised orientating our maps and using compass directions. We had a quick hosedown too!

Science Superstars

Today we saw some amazing experiments! As we had quite a few absences in 2La, we will continue our auditions on Monday.
