Reading Buddies!

Year 2 had a wonderful time sharing books with their year 6 reading buddies this week.

English

We have been writing character descriptions of our super veggies or veggie villains. The children have really impressed us with their writing this week, trying hard to include right choice adjectives, conjunctions and correct punctuation.

Spelling

This week we have been looking at the alternative graphemes for igh, including i-e, ie, y and i. We have learned the homophones right/write and knight/night.

Maths

This week we have been adding to the next ten and beyond the next ten. Children have used their number bond knowledge well. Look at this fantastic working out for 73 +9!

DT

We have been making our moving pictures this week based on either the Little Red Hen or Supertato. They have enjoyed creating their background scene and adding a moving part using either a slider, a lever and pivot or a wheel. Here are their finished moving pictures!

More Maps!

Following on from our work on maps and the local area, there is an opportunity for families to contribute ideas to an illustrated map of Farsley being produced by Project Farsley. Pop along to Farsley Farmers’ Market this Saturday (9:30am- 1:00pm at St Johns Church Hall) or to Amity Brew on Saturday afternoon (2:00- 4:00pm). Project Farsley want to know what what is important in our community? And which spaces and places matter to you?
