Year 2 News 22.5.26
What a fun week we’ve had to round off this half term!
3…2…1…Blast-off!
Year 2 blasted off on a journey to the moon! We’ve been learning about the 1969 moon landing as part of our history work, and this week, have been writing diaries from the point of view of an astronaut. To help us collect some words to describe emotions we acted out a trip into space, packing our bags and equipment, handling moon rocks and walking on the moon!

1960’s Dance
We’ve all been enjoying some 1960’s music this term and have been practising some dance moves in PE. Take a look at 2MW’s performance. Can you spot the swim, the hand jive, the twist and the pony? Some children are very keen to teach their families the routine at home!
Maths
We have tried really hard with the tricky concept of time this week. Children have looked at telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes e.g. five minutes past 1 or twenty minutes to 8. (not digital) Please continue to reinforce this at home.
DT
We have started to make our puppets! We followed our designs to add details to the templates by gluing on different features. We will carry on with these after half term.
