Well done!

The children have been resilient and gave their best efforts to their assessments this week. We use these as a benchmark and to identify any gaps in learning we need to cover over the year. We are proud of the way Year 6 have approached this week and given it their best.

Geography

This week the children looked at a very strange map and learned about the tectonic plates that cover the Earth. We talked about a new geographical word: lithosphere and the layers of the Earth. Did you know scientists dug for over 25 years to create the Kola Superdeep Borehole and didn’t manage to break through the Earth’s crust?

Maths

This week we have been delving into multiples and factors! Lots of the children are still a little wobbly on their times tables and so we encourage you to support your children to make sure they are learning those which they don’t know as well. TT rock stars is great for this – little and often will be beneficial by May when the SATS come around.

For more information about factors and multiples check here

What if we could dig through the Earth?

PSHE

This week the children have been thinking about the different risks out and about. We have discussed a whole range of risks and chatted about the severity of some of the risks brought up. Children designed a storyboard of how to approach a situation and what could be done if they found themselves in a similar situation. The children made some really sensible suggestions.

Homework

Spelling shed – challenge words

Mathletics x 2 activities

TT rockstars and Extreme Reading 10 minutes daily please.

Have a lovely weekend!
