Week ending 24.1.25

Hi all,

Sorry for a bit of a late blog but I got a bit sidetracked this weekend.

The chilkdren had another fantastic week of learning last week, impressing us with their effort and enthusiasm.

We are now investigating ‘Materials and their Properties’ in science. This week the children enjoyed investigating the viscosity of liquids. The planned and conducted a fair test and then recorded their results carefully in a table. Here are some photos to show the investigation in action.

Next week both classes are due to go to an excellent workshop at Cartwright Hall which is about the Early Islamic Civilisation, which is our current history topic. Please can you ensure you have returned your child’s permission slip. The workshop is only £4.55 per child, which is payable on Parent Pay. Although contributions are voluntary, it would be great if as many people could contribute as possible so that we can continue to run these kinds of visits. All children need to bring a packed lunch on the day of their visit (unless a free school dinner packed lunch has been requested) as we will return too late for normal school dinners.

We hope you have had a lovely long weekend ajnd look forward to seeing all the children on Monday,

The Year 5 team.
