Wednesday 28th February: School is open

Wednesday 28th February: School is open

It’s snowy but school is open and we intend to stay open. All staff have managed to get in – after epic journeys for some of them. Main roads in our surrounding area are well gritted but not Cote Lane and other residential streets. Take great care if travelling by car and consider parking further away and walking in.  Please drive very slowly! Slopes and steps at school are gritted but not flat areas. Children are having the chance of an extended playtime and are enjoying the snow! A large majority of children are in.

More heavy snow showers are possible this afternoon and into evening.  We are cancelling most after school clubs and sessions – choir, youth club and Grammar Group – so that everyone can start their journeys home as soon as possible. Tutor Trust sessions due to finish at 4pm are expected to run.

If we ever needed to close, we would post the news on the website and email parents as soon as the decision was made.

Wrap up warm and take care!
