This week in Nursery

The children have quickly settled back into the Nursery routine and have enjoyed playing with their friends again.

Diwali

This week we have been talking about Diwali as some of our children will be celebrating this weekend. We talked about wearing special clothes, eating lovely food and getting together with family. We also discussed that some children celebrate other festivals such as Eid and Christmas or weddings and birthdays. For most celebrations there are lots of things in common such as wearing your best clothes, eating delicious food, sometimes getting presents and seeing family. We talked about Diwali being the Festival of Light and that often people will have fireworks just as some people do to celebrate Bonfire Night or New Year. All the children had the opportunity to make Diwali cards using sequins and glitter.

We also did a word study…

Lots of other fun!

The children have been very focussed this week and have played well with their peers. Some children enjoy playing by themselves but have been equally engaged.

Finally…

Here is another counting rhyme to share with your child at home.
