Happy New Year!

Welcome back to a new year and a new term. The children have had a lovely week and seem glad to be back with their friends and familiar routines.

This half term our story is ‘The Three Little Pigs’. This week we read one version of the story and the children were able to join in with lots of the repeated phrases. Over the next few weeks we will be looking at different versions to talk about the similarities and differences. If you have a copy of this traditional tale at home it would be lovely if you child could bring it in and we can talk about it. Here is a ‘Mr Tumble’ version for you and your child to join in with or get to know the story if you are not familiar with it.

The Story Bus

This week ‘The Story Bus’ made it’s first visit to Nursery. The children were very excited and really enjoyed the experience. They sat and listened to some new stories and then joined in reciting some familiar rhymes. Then they had the opportunity to choose books for themselves to look at or share with friends. The bus will visit again so all the children will have the opportunity to further develop their love of stories. Don’t forget that we change Nursery library books every Wednesday. You can also join a local library to support language development, promote imagination and foster a love of books.

Lots of fun!

Here is a selection of photos showing lots of other things the children have been doing in this first week back…

Thumbs up!

Please remember to add a ‘thumbs up’ or comment to each blog post. It’s lovely to know that parents are reading the blog each week and sharing it with their child. It’s a good opportunity for your child to talk about what they and their friends have been doing during the week.

Have a lovely weekend from the Nursery team
