Science

In our Science lessons this week, we have been investigating conductors and insulators. We planned out a fantastic investigation, thinking carefully about which objects we were going to test and the materials that they were made out of. Once we had our list of items, we had to decide how we were going to test each one, eventually settling on plugging the material into a circuit to see if it lights a bulb or not. The children showed a really good understanding of which materials were conductors and which were insulators and really got stuck in with planning the investigation from start to finish.

Road Safety

This week we have been doing some work on road safety with some help from the Council. We started with some work on the Green Cross Code in our assemblies and classrooms, learning what it was and how it should be used. The children then went out in small groups to put this learning into practise. We were so impressed with the maturity and focus the children displayed during these sessions and it is clear that they took the guidance to heart.

Times Tables

We have started a new system for learning our times tables this week. When the chiuldren have fully learnt a multiplication table and can confidently answer questions on it, they will be given a wristband for that table. It also has all of the questions from 1x to 12x printed on it for reference. If your child has come home with some wristbands, it means that they are confident with these tables, though it would still be worth practising them from time to time to keep them fresh.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
