Phonics

The children are continuing to revise all the hard to read and spell words. We are focusing on words ending in ‘ed‘, such as skill – skilled, smell – smelled. We are so happy with how the children are focusing on their handwriting when writing sentences. Please keep practising at home too.

Maths

This week the children have consolidated their understanding of the composition of 5. A key representation has been using 5 fingers on one hand. We discussed how many fingers were up and how many were folded to make 5. We have also practised forming numbers. Can your child write the numbers 1-10?

PE

We spent our PE lesson working in teams today. First the children had to find a bean bag of a certain colour and bring it back to their ‘house.’ As they only needed one, they had to let each other know if they had found one and everybody had to come back to the house. Then we played a great game of tidying the house, where they had to take beanbags and cones from their house to the houses of the other groups. Lots of dojos were earned by everybody for working together so well.

Harlow Carr

Thank you to our amazing parent volunteers we couldn’t do it without you. The children had a great time making different colours to match the colours of the flowers and leaves. We also drew at all the shapes we could see. We were lucky enough to plant some flower seeds, we can’t wait to see what colourful flowers we get.
