Phonics

Our tricky word this week is ‘she‘. How many tricky words can your child recognise?

We learnt the phoneme/graphemes ‘ss’ and ‘j’. We have now learnt all the phase 2 phonemes and we are beginning to learn the phase 3 phonemes. Over the next two weeks we will be assessing how many of the phase 2 phonemes your child knows.

Maths

We have been learning about whole and parts this week. The children have been investigating toys and jigsaws and are beginning to understand that whole things are often made up of smaller parts and that a whole is, therefore, bigger than its parts.

They all enjoyed making and eating a fruit kebab and talking about the parts and the whole.

RGK Abbey House Trip

RGK had a super visit to Abbey House Museum. They got to see and play with lots of old toys and of course visit Santa. Thank you to the parents who helped out on the trip.

The Super Star

The children are looking forward to performing their nativity for you all next week. They have all brought home a seating plan, so you know where your child will be sitting. Every child will have a turn on the stage. We hope you enjoy the show!

Have a lovely weekend.
