Phonics

This week we have learnt new digraphs:

wh‘ as in whisk, whisper

ph‘ (makes a f sound) in graph dolphin

ew‘ (makes long 00 sound) in blew, grew, stew

oe‘ in toe, woe

Our new hard to read and spell words are your, ask and should. Can you think of a setence using one of them or all of them? Can you write them in a sentence?

Maths

This week the children have practised their subitising skills (recognising small numbers without counting). They have been introduced to rekenreks to support with this. Can your child use this virtual rekenrek to subitise different amounts? How many red beads? How many white?

Understanding the World – Maps

We have learnt alot about the United Kingdom. This week we are learning about the world! We have looked at all 7 continents. Can you remember they all?

RPT Stockeld Park

RPT had an absolutely fantastic time at Stockeld Park on Monday. We explored the Enchanted Forest story walk, played in lots of play areas, had a story workshop and played in the Play Hive.

Stockeld Park Trip RKT – Tuesday 23.06.2026

Please remember that RKT are going on their trip to Stockeld Park next Tuesday. Please drop your children off at 8:30 so we can leave early. Please remember as well not to send anything containing nuts in your child’s packed lunch; this includes Nutella or other chocolate hazelnut spreads. Thank you!

Sun cream

Now that the weather is getting warmer, please make sure to apply sun cream before your child comes to school and provide a sunhat for them to wear. Thank you!

Everything else…

We would like to wish all the Dads, Grandads, Grandpas a lovely Father’s day.
