Reception News – 15.9.23

We have had another busy week in Reception. The children are all settling in well and making new friends.

Farfield Farm

The children enjoyed visiting the school farm. They saw lots of vegetables and fruit growing, the bees were busy in their hives, the wind turbine was spinning very fast and the chickens were happy to have visitors! The children all picked an apple from the trees in our school orchard.

Dough Disco

The children are enjoying their daily Dough Disco sessions. Children need to have strong muscles in their hands to enable them to write effectively. Dough Disco involves some fun exercises for the fingers to improve fine motor control and gross motor skills and will help the children prepare for writing.

Reception Newsletter

The children should have all brought home a copy of our newsletter. It tells you information about our PE lessons, our library sessions and some upcoming meetings about reading, phonics and maths.

Everything else…

PE

We will be doing our first PE lesson next Friday. The children need a white T-shirt and a pair of black shorts. Their PE kit can stay on their peg in a small bag. Please make sure that all their clothing is labelled.

Have a lovely weekend.
