Nursery Blog – 24.04.26

The book we are looking at this half-term is ‘Peace at Last’.

Phonics

This week, we have been looking at the phoneme and grapheme for ‘p’. We introduced Pietro the parrot and listened to the letter rhyme.

Maths

We read the book ‘Postman Bear’ and repeated the counting sections. The children had a go at counting out letters for their friends. We focused on the word ‘delivery’.

Looking after our outside area

The children have been working hard to make our outside area look amazing. Together we weeded the path area and vegetable patch, replaced the sand shed flooring, and repaired the wooden car. The children enjoyed measuring the screws and counting the nails. It has been lovely sharing some of the work with the children and allowing them to take some responsibility and have pride in our environment.

Everything else

This week, we welcomed some new children to our nursery, and it has been wonderful to see them settling in. The children have been busy practising writing their names, mixing colours, investigating snails, and enjoying messy play with foam! There were many more activities as well…

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
