eyLog

eyLog is an app we use to send observations home. All the children now have an account, and an email has been sent out today with all your login details. If you have not received any information, please get in touch.

Phonics

This week, we started our phonics sessions. We have listened to different environmental sounds to develop the children’s listening skills and awareness of sounds in the environment. We also used sticks so the children could experience and develop their awareness of the different sounds they could make.

Maths

During our maths session, we have focused on the language ‘more’ and ‘fewer’. We used a garage carpark to add ‘more’ cars and then remove them to see ‘fewer’ cars. We then used raisins as a treat. We added ‘more’ so there was enough for everyone in class. As the children ate them, we discussed that there were ‘fewer’ each time someone took some.

Everything else

We have had an amazing week. With all of the lovely rain, we were able to find lots of worms! We discussed different weather conditions and suitable clothing to wear. The children have enjoyed the mud this week, which led to us discussing different words to describe it. The children have also been busy painting pictures for their lockers and decorating wings so they can become butterflies on the wall.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
