Phonics
This week, the children continued to explore the grapheme and phoneme for ‘i’. They practised forming the grapheme and located it on a letter grid. We have been particularly impressed with the children’s blending and independent writing skills this week.

Word Aware
We focused on the words ‘old’ and ‘noisy’ this week.
Maths
We have worked on our subitising skills this week. We used dot plates and also picture cards to spot the amounts. The children are becoming very good at this.
Printing
The children enjoyed using various objects to create artwork. They especially liked using toy cars to make tracks.

Everything else
Although the weather was quite wet this week, we still managed to spend some time on the hill and riding bikes. We had fun playing with our new trains and building amazing tracks. The children loved pretending to be doctors and got a little messy playing with diggers in flour.

Have a lovely weekend,
The Nursery Team
