Phonics

This week, we started exploring the phoneme and grapheme for ‘a’. We read a rhyme and thought about items that begin with this sound.

Words

This week’s words are “long” and “little.”

Maths

The children focused on positional language this week. We placed a teddy bear on, under, next to, and between various items for the children to describe its position.

Story Bus

Many children visited the Story Bus this week. They enjoyed a sing-along and a story. The Story Bus will be visiting us again next week, so anyone who hasn’t had a chance to visit will have the opportunity then.

Everything else

We received a special egg delivery this week, but we will have to wait two weeks to see what’s inside. The children have been guessing what might come out! Some of our friends are preparing to celebrate Eid, so we have been busy making Eid cards. The children have continued to enjoy the dry weather and have spent much more time outdoors. The children have created potions using petals and practised drawing.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
