Nursery Blog – 09.10.26

Phonics

In addition to our weekly segmenting and blending activities, the children have taken part in action songs. A firm favorite is “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.” We also made sounds with our bodies by clapping, patting, and stomping.

Word Aware

This week, we have focused on the words “before” and “behind.”

Maths

We had a lot of fun building this week. We constructed towers using construction bricks and discussed the concepts of ‘curved’ and ‘flat.’ The children built some impressive towers.

Everything else

This week, we continued to reflect on ourselves and focused on our families. We read “My Magic Family” and “It’s OK to be Different.” We exercised our upper-body muscles with our “flipper flappers,” created patterns with colored pegs, and made pictures on the whiteboard. We also tried drawing a fish and a cat. We even spent time outside on the bikes and setting up adventure courses for the children to practice their balancing skills.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
