Naughty Bus

During this half term, we will be reading ‘Naughty Bus.’ Our focus will be on sequencing the events in the story and retelling it. The book is designed to encourage conversation, so we will discuss the actions in the story and consider how we might change them. The children have enjoyed watching the “Naughty Bus” song.

Phonics

The children have continued to look at the grapheme and phoneme for ‘n’. We practised forming the grapheme and found it on a letter grid.

Word Aware

This week, we focused on the words ‘quick’ and ‘quiet.’

Maths

During our maths sessions, we explored the concept of ‘collection’. We set up a picnic area and shared food to compare the collections on each plate.

Snails

Due to all the rain, we got snails! We have had a lot of fun observing, holding and racing them. They have now been safely returned to their natural habitat.

Everything else

The children have really enjoyed returning to school. Although the weather has been quite mixed, we’ve still managed to spend plenty of time outdoors. We have ridden our bikes, made a slime bath, practised our math skills, and created art on the whiteboard.

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
