Phonics

This week we set up a farm area and listened to different animal noises. The children needed to listen carefully to identify the animal the sounds belonged to. We also played a ‘Guess the Animal’ sound game on the board.

Maths

This week we have introduced ‘Puppy Number 2.’ We have looked at the number 2, the colour yellow, and rectangular shapes. The children found lots of yellow and rectangular things in our classroom. We have some great detectives.

Chinese Lunar New Year

This week the children have been learning about the celebrations in China. Commonly known as the Spring Festival in China, the Lunar New Year is a fifteen-day celebration marked by many traditions. This year marks the year of the snake and so we have been busy creating snake decorations.

Everything else

It has been another busy week. We looked at the colours of a rainbow, and the eight phases (shapes) of the moon, played in ‘goo’, washed our ‘babies’, practised our balancing skills on the bikes, completed some yoga, danced, and learned some Makoton animal signs. Plus a whole lot more…

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
