What a wet week! This week we have welcomed three new children into our class. It has been lovely to watch everyone interact.

Dough Disco

The children have been busy following instructions while using play dough. We complete ‘Dough Disco’ sessions each week. These sessions build strength in your child’s hands. Rolling, squishing, pinching, and splatting help develop the muscles used for fine motor movements. These muscles are essential for future skills such as holding a pencil and using scissors.

Counting

Each week the children practise their counting skills. We sing counting songs, such as ’10 Green Bottles’ and ‘1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Once I Caught a Fish Alive’. Singing songs is a good way for children to become familiar with counting. We will focus more on each number later in the school year. Have a go at singing this song.

Leaf printing art

This week the children created some lovely leaf printing artwork using natural materials. We discussed the autumnal colours and looked closely at the veins.

Obstacle course

We decided to create some obstacle courses this week. We worked on taking turns, staying safe, balancing, throwing, and jumping. We were pleased with how well the children listened and followed the instructions to stay safe.

Everything else

Have a lovely weekend.
