Phonics

This week, we have been playing a phonics bingo game. The adults orally sounded out words for the children to match with images within a grid. The children needed to hear and blend the sounds to know which word/picture they needed to find. We are all very impressed with how well they all did.

Maths

During our maths sessions, we have continued to look at the number 5. We focused on different representations of 5.

Planting

This week, we have been busy clearing weeds and creating areas to plant and grow flowers, herbs, fruit, and vegetables. The pumpkin seeds we planted before the holidays have developed enough be be planted outside. Watch this place! We have planted some strawberries, beans, basil, and chives. We are hoping to get some more soil and plants next week so we can fill our planters. If anyone has any spare plants that they would like to donate, we will find a place to plant them…

Revelation Art

The children have explored Revelation Art this week. They have created some lovely pieces of artwork with the aid of technology.

Everything else

What a bright and sunny week it has been. The children have loved being outside. Please remember on sunny days to bring a sun hat and apply sun cream. The children can top up their cream if needed, but if you can apply all-day sun cream, it makes it a little easier to manage in school. We do encourage the children to play in the shade as much as possible, and we have a water station so they can keep hydrated.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
