Headteacher blog 18th February 2022

We have got to the end of a very long, dark and challenging half term. The children and staff have been fantastic and, despite the disruption, there is still a really happy atmosphere and lots of terrific learning going on. New COVID cases are relatively low compared to January, although half the new cases this week have been staff members. As I write, we haven’t had a single new KS2 child case this week – the first time that has happened for a long, long time.

Next week is a well-earned half-term holiday. School will still be busy with contractors, particularly the infants where roof works will allow the long-awaited arrival of our new air source heat pump heating system in March, long-delayed electrical works will allow the solar panels to finally be commissioned and, most excitingly, we hope to have super new Foundation Stage play equipment installed. We are grateful, again, to the PTA for part-funding this further enhancement to our grounds.
