Headteacher blog 16th June 2023
This summer term is glorious: so many residentials, visits and special events. The weather has been spectacular too this week which makes it even more special. (We do really need some rain though.)
Year 6 have been on residential to How Stean Gorge in the Dales this week. The children have abseiled, caved, done a gorge scramble and completed a via ferrata course including, for most, some very high wires traversing the valley. These activities were a wonderful challenge for the children and they can be very proud of themselves. Many thanks to all the staff that give their time to residentials.
Year 3 have been visiting The Royal Armouries: a visit that is new to our curriculum. The trip included a Romans workshop that the children enjoyed, as well as a general tour of the site. Maybe we’ll start to see testudo formations on the top field as part of den ‘negotiations’?
