Farsley Farfield Primary School

Headteacher blog 13th July 2018

I enjoyed a fabulous concert at Pudsey Civic Hall on Thursday evening as a dozen or so children in Years 5 and 6 performed with students from Springbank and Priesthorpe in a show called ‘Rhythms of the World’. Working with specialist teachers from Leeds City Council Artforms and Punjabi Roots, the children experienced djembe, samba, dohl and dancing.  It was a culturally rich performance and a wonderful opportunity. It was great to see so many former Farfield pupils taking part as Priesthorpe students. Artforms recently moved to Pudsey Civic, and Priesthorpe have recently been awarded ‘Music Champion’ status, so I hope that this is the first of many more cultural opportunities that we can get involved with.

On Wednesday we had a successful Sports Day. Lots of family members attended and there was an excited atmosphere. Well done to Mr Little and Mr Cooke for running the events. Well done to all the children for their efforts in the events; some juniors learnt not to go off so fast in the 1km race!

This week we got our KS2 SATs results. All our statutory assessments are now complete and we have a pleasing set of results across the school. Children and staff have all worked hard and should be proud of their achievements.  We are busy pulling reports together and they should be with families some time next week.
