Headteacher blog 12th July 2019

We are approaching the end of the school year and it is very busy. End of year reports will go out on Monday along with SATs results and other statutory assessments for Reception and Year 1.  This week Y4 have been on a trip to Horton in Ribblesdale, 5L have been to Malham, Nursery went to Harlow Carr Gardens, Reception had a seaside afternoon and Year 2 had a ‘Bees Workshop’ with Nicole and Sue who have the apiary on site. It was lovely to get feedback from Nicole about the workshop: she said that, “I can’t even begin to tell you how impressed I was. By far the most gorgeous Year 2 classes I’ve ever been to.  I felt that I had to tell you what a credit they are to their wonderful teachers and the school.”

We also had the end of year disco on Monday. Both discos were very well attended and they raised a fantastic £600 for the school. Today the PTA are publishing a newsletter that shows that they have raised a fantastic £6300 this year for the school. Thank you to everyone that has been able to support the PTA this year with volunteering and fund-raising.

On Wednesday we had Sports Day and this was another super event. Special thanks must go to Mr Cooke for organising his 16th and final Junior Sports Day before he move on to his own headship in September. It was another fast-paced competitive afternoon with grades of racing so that everyone had a chance. I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves.
