It was lovely to meet the new, and not so new, Nursery parents at our Wednesday open evening and it was particularly pleasing to hear that we had been recommended to a number of families. I have also been showing prospective parents around the school and, this morning, as the sun shone, the school grounds really did look fabulous. One parent that I showed around had been a pupil here herself twenty five years ago and she was amazed at how things had changed. There was a busy ‘buzz’ around school as we walked around and they were impressed at all the activity that they saw. They were excited at the prospect of their child coming to such an active school: in the last two days alone, we have had Y4 at Magna, RC on the school farm, a Y4 tennis team at the city finals, thirty Y5s cycling at Otley Chevin and a Y3/4 cricket team at Pudsey Congs.

Last week we all enjoyed the final of our science competition ‘The S Factor’. I thought that this was one of the best things that we have done at Farfield for quite a while and I would like to thank Mrs Daniels, Mrs Galbraith, our scientist judges and all the participants for making it such a special event.
