Head teacher blog 17th October

Another busy week at Farfield has seen all of our younger children (Rec-Y2) out on more educational visits: Year 2 to Toby Carvery for a session about food; Year 1 to the fantastic Denso Nature Reserve and Reception to Blackhills Woods for the Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Each trip was a great success and well done to the staff for their organisation and commitment to making the curriculum so exciting.  In KS2, we have had children at Rawdon Tennis Club, Pudsey Judo, Gym Magic, on Farfield Farm, cooking in The Studio, working on creative writing with students from Leeds University and attending about twenty different after school clubs …. a pretty average week really!

I would like to take this opportunity to recommend the class blogs to you (accessible from the main school website). The breadth of blogging in the school really is remarkable now and they give a fabulous insight into our classrooms (and beyond). Many parents (and grandparents) already do leave comments and feedback and I know that it is much appreciated by children and staff. Many blogs now have an automatic ‘subscribe by email’ service (in the top right corner) that people can use to get updates more quickly.
