Hi all,

We hope you have had a lovely holiday and that the children are all feeling well rested and ready for a new term. We have got stuck in to our new year learning straight away in Year five.

Our Spring term topics are:

Maths – Fractions then Multiplication and Division

English – Narrative poems then play scripts. We are focusing on the Revolting Rhymes by Roald Dahl for the next few weeks. We will then go onto playscripts, learning and performing the play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespear.

Science- Continuing work on forces and then moving on to separating materials.

History – The Early Islamic Civilisation – We have begun this week by learning where and when the Islamic Civilisation started and spread to.

RE -What are the values and codes for living.

Art – Beatrix Milhases- Collage and Printing.

PE -Tag Rugby/Circuits/Dodge ball/Cycling and Cross country.

In DT, 5KH have finished making some Mars Rovers and 5HB will be making some this term due to sharing resources. Here are some photos of the fun 5KH had building these:
