Big solar switch on and decarbonisation
We finally have our solar installation fully switched on and generating across the whole site and our new electrical air source heat pump on our infant site is now operational. This is a major step forward in our drive towards decarbonisation.
Details of our solar generation can be found here: https://www.solarforschools.co.uk/schools/farsley-farfield-primary-school-ls28-5ed-107981
Infants: https://www.solarforschools.co.uk/schools/farsley-farfield-primary-school-infant-ls28-5ed
Juniors: https://www.solarforschools.co.uk/schools/farsley-farfield-primary-school-junior-ls28-5ed
(Please note that our relatively high Junior school electrical consumption includes Little People Nursery and Fun Club, both of which use electricity for heating.)
For most of the year, the school’s electrical consumption should be almost entirely delivered solar-generated carbon-free on site. The cost of this electricity to school will be less than one third the cost otherwise.
