A snowy week!

The snow brought lots of excitement to Year 4 this week! We had a great time playing outside.

English

In English this week, we have been working on creating and describing characters to feature in our own legends, which we will be starting to write soon. The children have lots of great ideas and we can’t wait to read their stories!

Maths

In maths we have been looking at the relationship between the 3, 6 and 9 times tables and working on our recall of these multiplication facts. For homework this week, please could children use TT Rockstars to practise their times tables. We have set up a battle between 4SN and 4L – who will be crowned the winners?! Children also have a spelling sheet to complete.

PSHE

Our MindMate focus for PSHE this half term is all about healthy relationships. 4SN positioned different characteristics, for example kind, fun, supportive, trustworthy, uncooperative and angry on continuum lines, deciding how helpful or unhelpful each trait was for a positive relationship. The children thought carefully about this and were able to explain their choices well.

Science

In science, we had fun investigating how ice cubes melt. We put ice cubes in different locations and made predictions about which ice cubes would melt the fastest!

Geography

In geography, we found out some information about the Rocky Mountains in North America, comparing them to the Pennines in the UK. Why not see if you can find out more about the Rocky Mountains at home?

Bowling

Well done to two of our Year 4 children who represented Farfield at a bowling event this week. They both did a super job!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend,

Mrs Sykes, Mrs Newsome and Miss Levett
