A musical week!

Our highlight in Year 4 this week was definitely making our musical instruments in D.T. The children did fantastically well, showing amazing independence, focus and team-work. They used tools sensibly and applied their scientific knowledge when thinking about how to construct and play their instruments. Well done Year 4! A big thank you to everyone who brought in resources for us to use.

Year 4 have also been editing and publishing their poems from different perspectives this week. They have worked really hard and should be proud of their finished work.

Finally, 4SN have filmed their final performance of Blackbird by The Beatles. I’m sure you’ll agree they did a wonderful job, with some beautiful soloists and fantastic instrument playing, including recorders, glockenspiels and the keyboard.

There is no homework for the holidays, but we would encourage the children to continue to practise their times tables. Heat maps from TT Rock Stars have been shared with the children (these were either shared at parents’ evening or given out to the children at school) to help identify which times tables facts to focus on. Using TT Rock Stars is a great way to practise, but many children have also found singing songs or chanting their tables helpful as well.

We hope you all have a lovely Easter break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back after the holiday.
