It is the end of a long, eight-week half term. We have had two positive parents’ evenings this week and the start of the school year has gone well. We have been doing lots of tours for prospective parents which is encouraging as the local birth rate has plummeted.
Year 3 classes have visited a synagogue this week and have followed it up with some exciting and interesting work on Jewish festivals back at school. There are lots of exciting trips planned for next half term, including Temple Newsam, The Armouries and a Gurdwara. We will also have Show Time evening trips in the run-up to Christmas. Trips and visits are very important in the curriculum and I am grateful to the PTA for supporting us with minibuses for this. I had the pleasure of driving our new transit minibus for the first time this week as the U11 football team won 1-2 away in Kirkstall. The coach-like minibus is an absolute pleasure to drive and drew envious glances from the other school’s teachers.
