One more week to go!

Maths
This week, we have enjoyed learning more about statistics. Children recapped their understanding of pictograms and interpreted data in this form. They then used data and represented this with a pictogram. We then moved on to bar charts, and children had lots of opportunities to compare information, sharing their thoughts on which way to represent data is best, before collecting information from their friends to share with others using a bar chart.

The Sound Collector
It was all about the Sound Collector this week. Year 3 have been practising lines, working in groups, pairs, and independently perfecting their lines with actions and props! We’re looking forward to sharing the final performance with different classes next week.

Science Superstars
This week was the final, and Year 3 were super excited. Our finalists have been practising their experiments, ready to share on stage. Our experiments included a density experiment and a magic hair experiment. Children from each year group did so well, and we know our judges were very impressed! Well done to both of our finalists who performed brilliantly.

Arts exhibition
Year 3 enjoyed visiting the arts exhibition and sharing their wonderful creations with their friends! Children will be able to take their creations home next week. Year 3 have worked hard creating clay pots. Tupperware would be ideal for taking these home.

DT
We will be working on another DT project next week! We are in need some cardboard – big enough for a shield, yoghurt pots and lids. If you have anything that is suitable, please send it in with your child on Monday.

Homework
Mathletics & TT Rockstars – please continue to practise your times tables
Spelling – Children to continue to work on their Year 3 and 4 spellings. We have sent home a set of spellings and some activities.

Next week

Party!
The summer break is almost here, and there is a lot to celebrate! Year 3 will be having a party on Thursday 16th July, in the afternoon. Children are to come in their school clothes and may bring a party outfit to change into after lunch and registration. It’ll be an afternoon full of fun and games!

Books
We hope to send books home on Wednesday. Children will need to bring a bag with them to school, as there will be a lot to carry.

Chromebook chargers
Please remind children to bring in their Chromebooks and chargers next week.

Have a lovely weekend.
