Phonics

This week, we have continued to look at the grapheme and phoneme for ‘m’. We have practised the formation and found it on a letter grid.

Word aware

We have looked at the words ‘shiny’ and ‘second’.

Math

The children have been using their listening skills to support counting this week. We dropped pebbles into a bucket (while the children had their eyes closed), and then the children showed how many they heard using their fingers.

Tasting

We have been very lucky this week. We have managed to collect quite a few strawberries from our plants in the foundation stage playground. Everyone tasted and loved them. We also picked quite a few peas and mange tout, but some children decided they didn’t like them. Well, not as much as the strawberries!

Everything else

It has been another busy week. We have been busy making cards for Sunday. The children spent some time on the castle, in the conservation area, and in the larger adventure area. The children have spent some time in the Reception classes this week as we begin the transition for September. We have also looked at the life cycle of a frog and fished for letters!

Have a lovely weekend,

The Nursery Team
