Prospective parents are strongly encouraged to meet the headteacher or a senior teacher and view the school. We do not have a specific ‘Open Day’; please come on a ‘normal’ school day and see what we have to offer!
If your child is due to start Reception in September 2026, please click here to complete your details and we will contact you to arrange a suitable day/time for your visit. Alternatively, you can contact Diane Walton, our Infant Administrator, at diane.walton@farsleyfarfield.org.uk to arrange a suitable time. A chat followed by a tour of the school buildings and huge grounds usually takes an hour.
15 or 30-hour attendance at school can usually begin in Nursery when your child is three. We admit all children into our Reception class at the beginning of the school year in September.
If your child was born between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022, you will receive a letter from Leeds Children’s Services informing you that it is time to apply for a school place for your child. The application process is open between 1st November 2025 and 15th January 2026 and all applications must now be completed online. Our catchment area is here, but you can apply from outside this area: a high proportion of our children come from outside our immediate area.
Places for school are centrally allocated by the Leeds City Council Education Authority; having a Nursery place does not guarantee a place in school. If you live outside the Leeds area you can still apply for a place in a Leeds school but will need to do this through your own authority. In-year transfers
For an ‘in-year transfer’, you will need to apply through Leeds Admissions and complete an online application form. Please note: whilst families moving into the area can usually start asap, children wishing to transfer to us from neighbouring schools would normally do so at the start of a half term. If you are in dispute with your current school, please do not approach us for a place without having discussed any problems with the headteacher of your current school. Changing schools can be detrimental to your child’s academic progress – your current school knows them well – and should only be considered in exceptional circumstances please. We follow the same admissions policy as Leeds City Council in terms of prioritisation for places.
