It has been a gloriously sunny but freezing cold week! The children enjoyed some snow-balling early on in the week but it was short-lived. Later on, ice collection was a favourite activity and an ice shop appeared on the field with tyre-fulls of frozen lumps ‘for sale’.
The minibuses have been busy this week. Year 3 have visited a synagogue to support work in RE and Y1 classes have been to Temple Newsam: enjoying a Fire of London workshop in the Tudor stately home and a tour of the farm in the afternoon. A group of children also went to an inclusive bowling event. (Of course, the minibuses have also been used for swimming lessons and PE lessons at Nile Wilson’s gym and The Depot.)
Last Friday, our samba band joined local councillors in the village for a 60th birthday celebration of the Farsley Library. The band will appear again on Wednesday evening at the Farsley Lights parade. This year’s event promises to be even more special with lots of willow lanterns and other creations created through community projects led by Grumpy’s along with Scrap and West SILC. We will have some lanterns too made by an after-school club this term. I hope to see lots of people there.
