Science
This week, Year 3 had the task to create a new vertebrate. Children enjoyed looking at the way it might move, its habitat, what it eats and what it looks like. We had a range of creatures with very interesting names!
English
This week, we learned more about Ernest Shackleton’s life and the communication method of telegrams. The children learned that each letter in a telegram was costly and had the task of writing important messages with limited vocabulary. With Shackleton safely in Buenos Aires, we’re all eager to see what the next chapter brings.
Geography
We focused on different biomes in geography, and the children used their Chromebooks to learn more about the climate and the animals and plants that would typically be found in them. After learning more about the woodland biome, the children made very good connections to the temperate climate.
PE
This week, we enjoyed practising a new skipping skill!
OOA
3SB worked as a team to create various words and phrases. They enjoyed working together to keep the hula hoop in their circle, which was then timed! We successfully got two hoops going; we aim to have four next week!
Netball
In netball, 3B learnt more about pivoting, passing and shooting. They enjoyed challenging themselves in pairs to pass to a hoop and have a shot!
Composing!
Year 3 enjoyed the afternoon composing their music and sharing it with others. In addition to this, they practised ‘Three Little Birds’ and played the glockenspiels alongside it.
