Year 2 had such a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day on Thursday. Thank you for all your support; the children looked brilliant in their ‘adjective’ costumes and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities. We started the day with a special assembly; Wendy from Truman Books came to show the children the £1 books that are available – remember to use your voucher if you haven’t spent it yet.
We then talked about our adjectives and completed a word study to investigate these further.
We made some fantastic corner bookmarks with our buddies. The year 6 children were so lovely, kind and helpful and they really supported our Year 2s.
In the afternoon, we decorated our stones to make ‘story stones’. We will be able to use these in our classes for oral story telling.
We also created our own ‘cool’ characters using a selection of the adjectives we came dressed as.
