English

We have loved reading George’s Marvellous Medicine. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening and reading along to the story. Yesterday we wrote some fantastic reviews of the story. children wrote about their favourite parts and characters. Perhaps you could try another of Roald Dahl’s books at home? Let us know if you would like to borrow one from our class libraries.

We have been writing our own stories this week about a character who takes a magic medicine. Children tried really hard to include all the features we have been practising. Well done on some super stories Year 2!

Spellings this week are words beginning wr e.g. write, wrong, wrap…

Reading Buddies

We had a great time meeting our Y6 reading buddies this week. We shared some stories and chatted to get to know each other. We are looking forward to meeting up again throughout the year.

Maths

We have finished our Money topic! This week we have been solving money problems including making totals and finding change. Children have had the opportunity in school to complete the money challenges on Mathletics. Lots are nearly at 1000 points so please log on to check before Sunday so they don’t miss out on their certificate.

History

We have finished our history topic on significant nurses. This week we have been comparing the three nurses we learned about and finished by asking the question- Which is the most significant and why? The children were able to explain their choices confidently, backing up their thoughts with facts about their lives.
