Phonics

This week we have been revising all the tricky words learnt so far: the, I, he, to, she, no, we, go.

We have also revisited the digraph ‘ck’.

Maths

We have continued to learn about the composition of numbers. We have been composing and de-composing numbers and investigating part-whole relations e.g. seeing that 3 can be composed of 1 and 2. The children enjoyed a fun Numberblocks episode about a stampoline park. Click here to watch it again at home.

RE

Last week we talked about what we could do as babies and how we have all changed. We know that not everyone celebrates Christmas but those that do remember the birth of Jesus. This week we listened to the Nativity story.

December Assessments

Over the last two weeks, we have been looking at what the children have learnt in phonics and maths. We are super impressed to see the progress the children have made since we did the same assessments in September. We have sent home copies of the assessments so you can see what the next steps for your child are. Please don’t worry if there are huge gaps, especially in maths as we haven’t taught them everything yet!

Christmas Party

We all had lots of fun at our Christmas Party! We even had a visit from Father Christmas.

Training Day

Don’t forget Monday 8th January is a training day. All children are expected back in school on Tuesday 9th January.

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all your support this term. We hope you have a super two weeks with your friends and family. We look forward to seeing you all in 2024.
