Reading at home

Thank you for all your support with reading and phonics at home. Please remember to write a comment in your child’s reading record when they read their book, practise the phonic flashcards and read the tricky word cards.

Maths

This week the children have been learning all about 2D shapes. They have had fun doing lots of practical activities using circles, squares, rectangles and triangles.

The children have enjoyed playing this 2D shape game. Click here to play at home.

We have also been learning about positional language and the children have been using words including on, next to, under, behind, above and below.

PE

This half term we are doing gymnastics in our PE lessons and our unit is called ‘High, Low, Over, Under’. This week the children enjoyed using the apparatus.

The Super Star

The children have started to learn the songs for our nativity ‘The Super Star’. They also have a line to learn, this is stuck in their reading records. Please help them practise saying this line. Our performances are on Tuesday 12th December at 9.20am and Thursday 14th December at 2.15pm in the infant building hall. They have all brought home a letter saying what part they are and if they need to bring in any clothes as part of their costume.
