Maths
In Maths, we have continued with our learning on time with a focus on duration and start and end times. Children used number lines and the 24-hour clock to work out answers to several problem questions. We were very impressed with the children’s hard work and understanding.
What can our muscles do?
In Science, we have been learning about our muscles and what they look like when they are relaxed and when they contract. Both classes enjoyed taking part in a range of exercises and labelling the different muscles that they could feel. 3B took their learning outside and enjoyed a little exercise!

Varjak has finally left Contessa’s house and has ventured OUTSIDE! He’s worried about Elder Paw and so is Year 3! This week, the children enjoyed creating a short plan and writing from the perspective of Varjak as he took his first steps Outside after seeing his beloved Elder Paw fight against two mysterious cats so that he could go and find help. Will he make it? Where is he going to go? Children used a range of ambitious vocabulary to describe how Varjak managed to climb up the wall with a short description of what it looked like Outside.

On Thursday afternoon, Year 3 became archaeologists and worked in groups trying to piece together the clues that they had just found whilst digging. Working collaboratively, they raised interesting points and had tons of questions, and figured out that the person lived in York. We later found out that she was indeed a person that lived in York who had migrated from North Africa and was known as the Ivory Bangle lady.
